Sunday morning, my mom, Angela, Cecilia, Dominick and I headed to Wildwood to go on the Wabash Frisco and Pacific train. Cecilia's school was having a mini field trip there so we all headed out.
The train ride was just a short 2 mile loop that ran parallel to the Meramec River. It was a short but pretty ride. Cecilia loved the ride...Dominick didn't really care. :)
Here are a few pictures from the train ride:
After we rode the train, we headed over to a nearby park to have a picnic. We had quite the spread! :)
Mom brought: bread, two kinds of cheese, water, diet root beer, and a cheese and sausage plate.
Angela brought: apples and peanut butter, ham for the kids, and some other fruit (and other things I can't remember right now).
I brought: peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, chips, cut up strawberries, and cookies.
We had a feast!
We ate a great lunch and then headed over to the playground. We did a few things, but the park was definitely geared toward older kids. The slide was a weird slide where it was basically just a piece of plastic and you were supposed to ride with your legs dangling over the side....so NOT a small child friendly slide...at all!
But we did the swings for a bit and their version of the "round and round" (which is what Cecilia calls the merry go round).
Here are a few pics from our picnic and the playground:
Even though Dom was a tiny terror for part of the trip, I think he had a good time! He wore himself out too. The minute we pulled out of the parking lot to go home, he was out like a light. :)
